Terms for renting Dalsland Kanal AB:s cottages

Arrival & Departure
The cottage is available from 15.00 hrs on the day of arrival to 11.00 hrs on the day of departure unless otherwise agreed. A hire period of one week is from one Saturday until the next. Guests should notify their approximate time of arrival, at least four days in advance to kanalstugor@dalslandskanal.se or by phone +46 (0)530 447 50 weekdays between 9.00 and 16.00 (press 1).
The key will be fetched in a locked box at the cottage. Location and code will be sent by mail a week before arrival.

Payment
Payment is made when the cottage is booked on our booking site. If the booking is made
directly with Dalslands Kanal AB, payment shall be made within 10 days from the date on the invoice or at the latest 20 days before arrival.

Cancellation
A booking can be cancelled by mail: kanalstugorna@dalslandskanal.se If you cancel your
booking at the latest 28 days before arrival, your payment will be returned after a reduction of SEK 500:- for administration costs. If cancellation is made later than 28 days before arrival no amount will be payed back, if not a cancellation insurance is bought at the same time as you made your booking.

Cancellation insurance
A cancellation insurance can be bought for SEK 300 at the same time as the cottage is booked. If you cancel your booking at the latest 24 hours before the time of arrival your payment will be returned after a reduction of SEK 500 for administration costs.
The cancellation insurance is valid in the case of:
* illness or death of you, a close family member or a follow traveller
* serious accidents, beyond your control, which concern yourself, your family or
travelling partner, such as your home is damage by fire, flooding
* if you are summoned to the military service or civil defence
To be valid the cancellation must be confirmed by a certificate signed by such as a doctor,
a representative of authority or insurance company. This certificate must be sent to Dalslands Kanal AB soon as possible, but never later than seven (7) days after your cancellation, to mail
info@dalslandskanal.se or address Dalslands Kanal AB, Nils Ericons väg 1, Upperud, 646 72 Håverud. The insurance fee is non-returnable fee under all circumstances.

Re-booking
Re-booking can be made until seven (7) days prior your arrival if you have a cancellation
insurance. If we accept your re-booking you will be charged an administration fee of SEK 500 and the difference in price between the cottages. It the price for the cottage you re-book to is lower, no repayment will be made for the difference.

Equipment
Each cottage has facilities for your own housekeeping. You are expected to bring your own bedclothes, towels and any consumer goods you may need. Cleaning is not included in the rent. Extra equipment, for example bicycles and boats are mentioned in the description if they are included in the rent.

Responsibility
You are required to look after the cottage, and its contents and equipment carefully, following the rules and regulations set out. You will be held responsible for any damage caused by you. Accidents and damage must be reported immediately to the lock keeper/Dalslands Kanal AB (info@dalslandskanal.se or ph +46 (0)530 447 50).
You are obliged to clean the cottage before checking out.
You are not allowed to stay more people in the cottage or outside than you stated in your
booking. Notice that children older than 2 years are counted as persons.

Deposit
Dalslands Kanal AB has the right to ask for a deposit of SEK 1 500. In such case you will be informed at the latest one week before check-in. The deposit will be returned after inspected and approved cleaning.

Complaints
Complaints shall be made no longer than 24 hours after arrival to the lock keeper or mail
kanalstugor@dalslandskanal.se. Any fault that arises during your stay should be reported for immediate repair or attention. Any fault(s) reported after your stay will be charged to the visitor and there is no entitlement for reimbursement.

Pets and smoking
Pets are allowed in some of our cottages, check the information for each object. Smoking is forbidden in all cottages.

Force majeur
Dalslands kanal AB and the visitor have the right to cancel the contract if the cottage is not
available because of act of war, nature catastrophe, industrial action, conflagration, a longer interruption in water and energy supply or any other extraordinary event or situation that is beyond either party’s control.
